Swing Trade Ideas – April 14, 2021

Market View

World markets are mixed with USA markets green, Europe red, Japan red, Hong Kong green, China green and Asia green.  Yield curve is unchanged and US dollar is slightly lower. USA markets are again led by the Nasdaq with Russell 2000 close behind. Oil is +1.7% higher.  GS, JPM and WFC all beat earnings estimates  but premarket only GS is currently positive in the premarket. Big news today is IPO of Coinbase (ticker COIN) which is juicing the bitcoin related stocks such as TSLA, SQ, PYPL, MARA and RIOT.  FANG have driven the Nasdaq and S&P500 for the last few days and are currently positive while Russell2000 has been weak. With energy strong and financials reporting good results, we may have a bounce in the small caps.  Large caps indices are historically stretched so pullback or rotation should not be a surprise. TSLA has been the driver so one to keep on the radar.

GS had a large earnings beat which should boost Morgan Stanley and provide a catalyst for a run into earnings Friday. Rotation back into financials with tech extended is another potential catalyst.
